Lab in a Flap

Back to dogs after a week off exploring chickens and 50 shades of white. Thought I would do 50 shades of black. Apart from the pupils of the dog's eyes,  there is no black in this painting. I have been learning about the properties of black - straight out of the tube it has a bias towards blue hence paintings can quickly become flat and cold, not the look you want for a living animal.

In the meantime, I finished the poodle commission that I wrote about last week, and I think it has come out OK. I am pleased with it.
