Rogue's gallery (3) JRT

Another little mugshot, 4"x4" in pastel, mounted. Overall dimensions 6"x6". The black card behind the mount is simply there so that the piece will show up on the white page of this blog. This is the 4th time I have painted this little chap. Despite his worried expression, I'm sure he is very jolly in real life: I haven't met a Jack Russell yet who isn't cheerful, feisty and self-possessed. They really are very impressive little dogs, despite an innate capacity for getting into trouble. One of my JRT friends has a tendency to get stuck in drainpipes, storm drains  etc and is frequently having to be dug out - last time he wasn't so much dug out as excavated. His owner was scratched, bruised and coated in sticky mud from top to bottom. The dog emerged more or less pristine and apparently unconcerned. Don't know how they do it.
