Dog on the duvet 3

A little study of a dalmation puppy in which I tried out painting spots (difficult) and played with how to show up a white dog on cream bed linen. Chickened out, really, by warming the bedding up to pale yellow. I do think there are some tone and colour combinations which, even though they work visually - and they may even work photographically - they do not work in paint. I'm not sure why: I think our visual brain is much more forgiving of reality or even photographs than it is of a painting.
