Here is a beautiful Maine Coon cat lurking in the branches.
This was a tricky painting to do and I took no work-in-progress shots because it felt like I was hovering on the brink of disaster at every stage and I didn't really want it immortalised!
I painted the tree trunks with a palette knife which was great fun. To try and capture the elusive colour of the tree trunks, I created about 6 puddles of colour on my palette, in a value string from dark to light, but did not properly mix any of them. I lifted paint from the puddle with a knife and then relied on the application to blend the colours. I painted the cat with a brush and the same puddles of colour only lighter tints.
