Camouflage (No 2)

This painting was my 5th attempt. The previous 4 were wipers. I have found tigers to be very, very difficult to paint. I referred to Richard Schmid's tiger painting on this 5th attempt and attempted to render the animal with a good deal less fussy detail and all in one go. Schmid's tiger is painted in gouache but I have used oils,  because I wanted to see if I could. Gouache would make one element easier, namely you could wait 2 minutes for the paint to dry before adding more so there is a bit less scope for making a terrible mess, but for me the whole point was to do it in oils.
