This is Roadford Reservoir in West Devon, created in the valley of the River Wolf in the 1980s. This view is from my neighbour's garden. The bridge you can see in the mid-ground is the bridge out of my village towards Cornwall. In the middle in the far distance - just before the blue hills - you can see a white-ish speck. This is the tower of the dam across the lake: it was built, mainly, to create a water supply for Plymouth. The water sports centre is slightly further to the right and forward a bit, where I have dropped in a couple of red sails.
No particular technical problems with this apart from the fact that it is a lot of info to fit into a small 8"x6" painting and the usual issues with those pesky greens. I have found a fab site with loads of helpful tips on mixing greens here - capturing green, by Charles Sovek. He also includes a colour mixing guide:
That's all for this week: have a lovely weekend and thank you for looking at my paintings.
