Brown Study 1 - Airedale Puppy

A 'brown study' refers to a gloomy or melancholic reverie according to the dictionary. 
Yep. That about sums things up. 
Compounded by the fact that I had to wipe two paintings on the trot because they turned into mud. 
And I thought - sounding rather like Basil in Fawlty Towers on an off day - "MUD? you want MUD? OK I'll give you mud" and I set up a palette of 3 shades of mud plus black and white for this little pup. 
Funnily enough, I think it worked out OK. 
The mud colours, for anyone interested, were Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber and Naples Yellow. I cheated with a spot of Prussian Blue on the collar.
