Painted quite thinly on 10"x8" canvas board using a 3/8 inch flat apart from the cats' eyes: I used the tiniest brush - the sort sold for miniature painting - and held my breath for each movement of my hand. I am about to start work on a large commission and it will be nice not to work so small for a bit.
My grandma had a bed that looked just like this. I recall it being IMMENSELY high off the ground, although I was very young so I don't suppose it was. Once loaded into it and under its capacious pale pink and green quilt with flower sprigs, I was trapped until rescue the next morning. The only way out was to fall out, which was inconceivable because there were snapping creatures living underneath it.
