I'm having an American week, this week - for no particular reason, other than I liked the reference photo for this painting by Sue Farris on PMP and it was good fun painting stripes in bright colours.
I used Pthalo Blue for the background: a rare event as Pthalo Blue must be the highest chroma paint I own. I swear that just taking the lid off turns both my hands blue up to my wrists.
Pthalo Blue as a base also makes an excellent black. I have been experimenting with making chromatic blacks and will write up some recipes for tomorrow.
There is no black in this cat, though, apart from his pupils and eyeliner. His coat is Transparent Oxide Red and Lemon Yellow, darkened with Viridian.
